As a Hospitality Assistant/Barista, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest /staff experience and services at Mercy Ships International Office. This position is a dynamic, customer-facing role that requires high communication and professionalism with great attention to detail.

**Compensation Range for This Position Is $14/HR

How You’ll Contribute

Hospitality & Housekeeping

• Approach all encounter with guests and employees in a welcoming manner.

• Thoroughly clean and restock accommodations.

• Restock janitorial supplies throughout campus.

• Launder Bedding/Towels/Linens.

• Complete janitorial tasks as assigned such as mopping and trash removal.

• Clean and restock conference rooms.

• Assist kitchen staff with serving food and in dish room.

  Barista

• Greet all persons in a welcoming manner.

• Take orders accurately.

• Prepare specialty drinks & food items.

• Follow visitor safety procedures by logging campus guests and provide visitor badges as

• required.

• Follow food safety protocols.

• Maintain temperature logs and waste logs.

• Maintain cleanliness of Cafe through completing daily and weekly cleaning tasks.

• Accurately complete weekly inventory.

• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the hospitality team and overall operations.

• Must be able to stand/walk for multiple hours; lift up to 25lbs.

• Strong customer service mindset, including attitude and approach, when interfacing with the
  public and colleagues.

• Strong time management skills and task prioritization.

• Attention to detail.

• Work collaboratively and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.

• Adaptability and flexibility.

• Supportive of Mercy Ships mission and vision, and committed to its core values.

• Understand and apply servant leadership, work collaboratively with integrity and demonstrate
  accountability.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or its equivalent required.

• Food Handler’s permit.

• Customer service experience required.

• Hotel/Housing experience preferred.

• Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
